We recommend using 2 of these LED grow lights per shelf. These grow lights put off less heat than traditional fluorescent bulbs, use less energy, and are less expensive to buy. This becomes more important as you scale - a 100 tray a week operation requires 50 of these lights so choosing these over fluorescents will save you money in both electricity from the lights themselves as well as the reduced a/c requirements. ​According to the manufacturer, you can connect up to 6 of these together.

Important calculations:

 

A rack of 10 of these lights will draw approximately 3.5 amps. A 15 amp circuit can usually be loaded to no more than 12 amps. Therefore, you can safely put up to 3 racks with a total of 30 of these lights on a dedicated 15 amp circuit.
