TRAYS

Trays are one of the biggest investments you will make when building out your grow room, so you want to buy the right ones the first time. They are expensive when buying a lot of them, but they last forever and you will never have to replace them.

These are the only trays you should buy, there is no other tray available that is better. Bootstrap Farmer is the only place to get them. According to their website, they are made from BPA-free, food safe #5 PP Plastic.

What you need:

You will need at least double the number of tray sets as the number of trays of microgreens you are growing per week (one set in germination and one under lights). A tray set consists of a tray with holes that is filled with soil on top of a tray without holes for bottom watering.

You will also use black trays without holes as cover trays for germination, these are the trays you place the concrete weights on during germination.

You can stack up to 5 trays for germination so you will need at least 1 cover tray for every 5 trays you are growing per week.

They are available in quantities of 1, 2, 5, 10, or 30 and come in a variety of colors. Choose any colors you want except for your cover trays which need to be black because black is the most opaque of the colors they offer.
